Deutsch: Hochrelief in Sandstein an der südlichen Wand eingemauert, eine
im Ganzen wolerhaltene , noch sehr rohe Sculptur, welche die auf dem Throne sitzende Gestalt Christi zwischen Petrus und Paulus vor- stellt (s. Fig. 1), der Erlöser hat den gespaltenen und reich ornamen- tirten griechischen Nimbus, herabrollendes Haupthaar und kurzen Vollbart; er hält die Kechte segnend empor, die Linke ruht auf dem geöffneten Buch; er sitzt auf einem Faldistoriuin, dessen eines obere Ende in einen Thier- oder Menschenkopf ausläuft. Diese Form der Faldistorien wird auf den Siegeln fränkischer Könige und Bischöfe seit dem 12. Jh. beobachtet, in welche Zeit demnach dieses Relief, trotz der für dieses Jahrhundert auffallenden Roldieit, der Ausführung nach zu setzen sein wird. Bei Petrus ist der gleiche Nimbus wie Paulus ihn trägt wol abgeschlagen. Beide Apostel tragen in der Linken das geschlossene Buch, Petrus dazu in der Rechten den Schlüssel. |
