Description

Kolari, Finland

An old house, Tanon talo.

There are in Lapland very few old houses, because the German army burnt all the buildings in Lapland, when it left Finland after the WWII. Finland and Germany were allies during the WWII, but after the peace agreement the German army withdrew to Norway via Finnish Lapland and destroyed everything on their way. It was Hitler's thanks to the ally and Finland's mistake to ally with Germany. (Lapland war)
