Description |
English: Poonah a P. and O. Steamer. Built 1863 by Thames Iron Ship Building Co.
Single screw with 2 cylinder compound inverted engine. Operating steam pressure 25 psi, 12kts. Originally to be named Maharajah, registered Southampton for the Alexandria service and later (after lengthening by 80 feet and an engine upgrade in 1874 under the superintendence of Mr. E. W. De Rusett) on the Calcutta- Suez service. July 1889 sold for breaking and scrapped at Sunderland in 1892. |
