Description

Tosca is een 21m lange houten ijsbeer op het plein bij het Schunck Museum. Het is geinspireerd op de 'HON' van kunstenares Niki de Saint Phalle, in 1966 gemaakt voor het Moderna Museet in Stockholm. De HON symboliseert een levenscyclus. In Heerlen kunnen mensen ook wandelen door de futuristische beeltenis van ijsbeer Tosca. Het houten beest is onderverdeeld in kamers die de longen, hart, maag en baarmoeder verbeelden. Duitse en Limburgse graffiti-artiesten hebben de buitenkant een artistiek tintje gegeven.

Persoonlijk vond ik het -om het netjes te zeggen- een niet geslaagd experiment vandaar dat mijn focus op de (in mijn ogen wel geslaagde) graffiti ligt.
