English: Rectangular, rounded corners and sides, featuring raised decoration of man in hat, jacket and waistcoat behind waist-high wood fence, 3/4 view in lower left corner of grimacing dog facing the smiling man on opposite side, inscribed between the two "Tis easy enough to be pleasant when life goes by with a song but the man worth while is the man who will smile when everything goes dead wrong." Inscribed in raised letters on lid "Smile!" Reverse slightly concave. Lid hinged on side. Striker on bottom. |
