Summary
[edit]Description"Anchor" by Neil Dawson, Docklands, Melbourne Australia (4589646775).jpg |
Anchor offers a tribute to the maritime crafts of the past - specifically, decorative rope work - by using the maritime technologies of the present. Dramatically changing its appearance throughout the day, the work is approximately 33 metres from the ground and secured by cables that are almost invisible, so it appears to float in the sky. New Zealander Neil Dawson is one of Australasia’s most prolific artists and was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2004. |
