TEXT
Schleswig-Holstein meerumschlungen

Vor Jahren war's, da lag es stumm
das meerumschlungne Land.
Die Wogen rauschten ringsherum;
Im Felde rauschen Grab und Blum'
und Friede bis zum Strand.

Darüber Bäume frisch und grün,
darunter goldnes Korn.
die stillen Dörfer her und hin,
wo um die Höfe Gärten blühn
zu Hecken, glatt geschor'n.
