The decision to delete is utterly incompetent. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 08:42, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The map comes from http://www.voanews.com/english/news/middle-east/Syrian-Army-Defectors-Reportedly-Kill-27-Soldiers-135644708.html - an agency of the US Federal government. They use US maps for their graphics, as I had pointed out when I voted to keep. Two others also voted to keep. But this incompetent Jameslwoodward (talk · contribs) arrogantly believes that he knows better than anybody else. That is why I oppose deadminships with "there are worse admins around". /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 09:57, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pieter. Calm the rhetoric, please. I may have made a mistake, we all do from time to time. If it really is as innocent as you think, why did the uploader crop off the source statement?
Even if the image was produced by VOA, they credited their source. Shouldn't we do the same? I'd be much happier if the image were placed here in its original form. If you have a good answer to my first question, and want to do that, I'll undelete it for you to upload over it.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 15:42, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
