Commons talk:Deletion requests/File:End the unjust Jewish occupation of Arab land.jpg
"Unused, beyond project scope and not realistically useful for educational purposes " There was no consensus to delete, as far as numbers go. Maybe unused on the Commons but Googling it gets you 1200 results word-for-word. How is this "beyond project scope" when there are plenty of images such as noIsrael or Latuff cartoons which are included in the project scope? Not educational? Is the noIsrael file educational? Are the portrayals of Israel by Latuff educational? Now we are referring to Mbz1 as a troll and a disgruntled user? You are insulting her and all that she has freely given to the project. You could have done well to learn from her rather than insult her as you have done. Shame, shame on this project for the extreme injustice that you are doing to her, as well as to those who believe that she is right and you are wrong. Stellarkid (talk) 22:23, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- 100 people showing up to just say keep without addressing the issue of the requester does not outweigh the policy. -mattbuck (Talk) 22:38, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- This was clearly a punitive delete, and should not have been closed by an admin that blocked the uploader just days before. The admin closed this with an insult, a personal attack on the uploader. I would say that that was a violation of admin tools but that seems to be just hunky-dory here at Commons. What is "policy" and what "outweighs" it is clearly a matter of personal opinion. Policy here seems to be that it is acceptable to punish people for their beliefs as long as those beliefs happen to support Israel or Zionism, or happen to be sensitive to images that (could be considered) insulting to Jews. That is my well-considered opinion. You are welcome to your own. Stellarkid (talk) 16:24, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's more a "quit using Commons as a soapbox" deletion. -mattbuck (Talk) 16:27, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
