Keep on topic?

[edit]

AnonMoos has made it a habit of insulting me instead of addressing my concerns.

I would ask anyone who has a problem with me requesting this be deleted to simply stick to the rules.

I noticed there is an argument that because it is in use, it should kept being in use. I will, again, state my opposition is that it serves no purpose, beyond partisanship. I will note that AnonMoos, besides insulting me, actually admits this and seems upset that I would argue that purely partisan symbols that do not add or improve anything OTHER than highlighting partisanship should not be on Wiki Commons. I rarely edit on here, I mostly stick to Wikipedia, but last time I checked we, as a Wiki community, do not allow partisan politics to shape articles, rather we expect people to follow guidelines for article creation. Creating your own, single party symbol and use it incongruently solely to highlight members of your party who won elections and primaries seems firmly in the province of "things we should not allow on a user created content site". Where is the limit? Democratic Party themed election articles? Conservative's taking over the abortion Wikipedia? Where is the line if a completely unofficial, admitting partisan symbol can just be used and it's use therefore justifies it continued use? I would argue poisonous fruit from a poisonous tree as if admitted partisanship is NOT poisonous fruit on a Wiki community site, what else is? -Kirkoconnell (talk) 14:52, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
