Oppose I hope it's not my machine, but I can see no English name. Charles (talk) 20:18, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe try looking inside the code : it is written in 3 languages, "Mauritian gregory". English name validated by Fishbase. FredD (talk) 20:45, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Only a handful of species do have an English name, and these have absolutely no consistency neither official recognizion (except for birds). Most of these names, when they exist, are gratuitous and ambiguous, often shared by many unrelated species, while some species have ten different names depending on location or context. This is why I have problems at using it in an encyclopedic context... Thanks for understanding. FredD (talk) 22:52, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that there is a problem with some species, but the Wikipedia article which you edited had just the one English name and you can always add others in the article. I am guessing, but I suspect dive guides would use the name Mauritian gregory. For me Jamaica poses a problem, because the locals have their own names for many birds!
