•  Oppose I really wanted to like this picture. Photographically the picture is flawless; I think the photographer has good command of DoF and interesting if unconventional composition. I find the composition a bit funny however (no emphasis on either subject). Also I fail to find its encyclopedic value (per Indon, what's it a picture of?), while a great artistic shot I don't feel it illustrates anything in it particularly well. Roadmrs
  • I think composition is a very conservative one based on rule of thirds: both the bird and the top of the ship are near interest points. The "Guidelines for Evaluating Photographs" in this same page does not say nothing about encyclopaedic value, on the contrary below "Featured picture candidate policy" explicitly says: "This is not simply a depository for wikipedia images, so images should not be judged here on their suitability for that project."
