- Support very nice work. But the diver is a bit out of focus IMHO. Nikhil(talk) 12:23, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- Info Yes, the diver is OOF due to the short DOF. But I think that the Giant moray is the main subject and the diver just adds to the scenery. The picture is taken at 24mm with the Giant moray only around 1 meter in front of me so immediately after I took the shot I had to get away from it's intended swimming path... ;)
- Support Wow. This is a very cool and unusual under water shot. Well executed, and for me it is plus that the diver is a little OOF. It helps attract focus on the main subject. --Slaunger (talk) 07:16, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
- Question I do not know much about giant moray eels, but I have never seen a photo of one, which was green. Is it really so green, or is it the propagation of light in the atwer, which makes it appear so green? --Slaunger (talk) 07:20, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
- Info Thanks for your kind words! In ~200 dives, it's the first time I've seen a free swimming moray coming towards me so I was very happy to get the shot. I'm no expert but of the 10-15 times I've seen a Giant moray when diving it's color has shifted from brown to dark green. But the photo was taken only 7-8m below the surface so I believe it's the light through the very clear water that makes it appear a bit greener than usual. Or maybe the Mexican Giant morays is greener than the ones I've seen in Asia.
- Thanks for the information. I have done a little image search and I did find a few green ones, but this is one of the most stunning I think there are available at all. Thanks for uploading it to Commons! --Slaunger (talk) 19:48, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
