Info Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the 30-meter-tall Art Deco statue was created by French-Polish sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with French engineer Albert Caquot. Also small tip: If you want to 'ping' someone, you must mention them during the same edit as you write your signature, otherwise the 'ping' doesn't work. Oppose Scaffolds are annoying. Yes I know, not photographer's fault, it's just sometimes you have all the luck and sometimes not (applies for myself too, of course). - Support The scaffolds are annoying, yes, but I really like the contrast between the melodramatic gesture and style of the statue and the mundane bustle at its pedestal. The shadows in the background are really helpful to emphasize the foreground.– Aristeas (talk) 10:02, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
