- Info I know that bird nominations are risky because of the high quality bar but imho this (head) portrayal of a Scarlet Macaw is better than any other similar photo of the same species, especially with regard to level of detail. Just a try, hope you'll support it :)

- Support lovely detail and color. maybe crop a little on the left? --SuperJew (talk) 11:13, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- Done Good idea, thanks for the hint. I cropped a bit tighter at the left, but I like to preserve the yellow blur circles (from flowers). --Tuxyso (talk) 12:03, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- Already looks better! Personally, I think it could even use a tighter crop, as on the right side the crop is right on the bird, and I don't think the blurred yellow circles add that much. Regardless, you have my support :)

- Support I like both works; and you may touch-up the yellow circles with green. JKadavoor Jee 17:15, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- I had to decide for one photo as FPC :) I think the nominated one is slightly better regarding composition, DoF and level of detail. Why retouching the yellow spots? These are yellow flowers - it's spring (in Europe)! I like them. --Tuxyso (talk) 17:20, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

- Comment Nice, but species name needed in the description. --Kadellar (talk) 18:53, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

- Question Is the "red" natural? or over-saturated ? --Dey.sandip (talk) 07:05, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
- I think this ara looks that way in real. I have not tuned the colors in any way. The ara is red enough by itself :) Probably the color looks quite saturated because the bird is not in bright light but merely in moderate shadow. I used the camera color profile "Adobe Standard" which also tends to a slightly more saturated color representation than "Camera Neutral". In short: No additional saturation by image editing! --Tuxyso (talk) 07:23, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose Sorry to spoil the party. I don't like the light. B.p. 11:42, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- I've awaited the obligatory Biopic-contra-comment :) This is no studio photography, but "real" life. Please do not expect 100% homogeneous light for an outdoor shot. Revenge for my sharpness comment on QIC? --12:08, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- That's very small of you to consider a genuine oppose as a revenge vote. Why don't you react similarly to other opposes? Very sad behaviour... Personal remarks have no place here as you should well be aware. B.p. 15:51, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- Have you overseen the ":)"? Also belongs to the next sentences, so don't worry about my reaction. I don't seriously think that is was a revenge vote. Personally I had expected a more detailted explaination for the oppose. "I don't like the light" contains no real information. For sure it is no necessity, but it had been interesting to know what, in your eyes, is the problem with the light. -Tuxyso (talk) 16:01, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
