Copyright? User:Dodo tagged this as a copyright violation. I disagree, and request other opinions here. --Infrogmation (talk) 13:41, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Keep This is my photo of some packaged food handed out for relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The photo illustrates this point, rather than attempting to reproduce any specific copyrighted work. A {{trademark}} notice may be appropriate. -- Infrogmation (talk) 13:47, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete It's not a {{Copyvio}} but a {{Derivative}}. I do not doubt of its usefulness (errrr... why do not show the food outside its boxes?), but the packages' artwork and graphical designs are copyrighted, unless we can prove another thing. Also, {{Trademark}} can only be applied to free but trademarked stuff, ie the Coca-Cola (textual) logo. --Dodo (talk) 14:00, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete Clearly derivative work. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:59, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Keep Does not infringe the copyrights of the works used. The designs may be copyrighted, but mostly serve a utilitarian purpose, and the arrangement is such that no one product is focused on. -Nard the Bard 18:44, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Deleted. Clearly violates the copyright in the printed packaging designs. Re the last comment: the physical features of a box/can itself are of necessity utilitarian, but printed designs on the surface are not. It is no defence to copyright infringement that you have copied the design printed on an otherwise utilitarian box or can, nor that you have taken a picture which shows several copyright designs.
