Sorry, User:Mutter Erde. I don't think this is a good idea. Photo dates to 1930, death year of photographer Ernst Sandau in Berlin is not known to us. Extlinks given on the image page do not support the claim made that this was an orphan work, and in any case, that's not a PD rationale. Lupo 14:57, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If noone knows Sandau's death year, we just can't use it, as there's no way to verify the PD status. And I guess if this image gets deleted, Image:Joachim Prinz von Preussen.jpg should be deleted as well, as it's another Sandau photo (according to the DHM). --Kam Solusar (talk) 02:05, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • According to this source Ernst Sandau is in 1910 old, ill or dead. A young woman with a rich daddy takes his studio in 1910, but only until 1913. So there are probably some more successors who release photographs under his studio name Mutter Erde (talk) 14:39, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • I disagree. Sandau is still listed at his address Unter den Linden 19 as kgl. Hofphotograph in 1932.[1] The mention by the Fotothek about Suse Byk taking over his studio is likely wrong, as the addresses don't match at all: Sandau was at Leipziger Strasse 128 until March 1, 1910, and then took over Sellin's atelier at Unter den Linden 19. Byk had her first studio at Kurfürstendamm 14-15 in 1911 and moved to Kurfürstendamm 230 in 1913/14. See User talk:Lupo#Mal wieder Original Research (in German).
