No indication that the uploader is the author nor that the company allows the use of this image. GeorgHH • talk 19:27, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Uploader says his employer is the author and there's no sign he got permission. Rocket000 06:44, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Is used on 2 Wikipedias. Is clearly a promotional image released into the PD by the company that took it. For companies that make things other than media, such images are not a source of revenue, but rather need to be got out there to generate interest in and discussion of the product. It's usually an underling that gets the job of doing this. I think somebody might ask for an OTRS confirmation, but this looks OK. --Simonxag 16:45, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- We still need permission from the copyright holder. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 17:26, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I have contacted Fleshlight & asked them to confirm the license. They say they have forwarded the email to the appropriate person. I think we may have to wait a little while. --Simonxag 21:06, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I responded via email approx 3 hours ago. I am an employee of the copyright owner (ILF, Inc.) of that image and represented the copyright owner in the uploading of the image to Wikimedia. It is the company's policy that the image be released into the public domain and available to anyone to use as they see fit. The intent of uploading it in the first place was to replace an image on the Fleshlight Wikipedia entry that was not distributed with my employer's consent and also showed products that do not exist any longer.
