Assuming uploader supplied the photo, is the rest sufficiently PD-ineligible? -Nard 04:03, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- Comment I think the maple leaves and other emblems might be a bit problematic--{{PD-Canada}} doesn't indicate that this would be in the public domain, either. --jonny-mt 13:34, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- The copyright information of original image on en-wiki show it's released under public domain, if this kind of photo need to be deleted then many similar country's passport photoes are also need to be considered?--User:Atlaslin 09:07, 2 July 2008 (UTC)~
- Possibly, but I'm not sure that's necessary--looking at it again, the "artistic content" is extremely small compared to the primary subject of the photo, which is the text. Since the text is ineligible for copyright here (i.e. even putting aside things like {{PD-textlogo}}, you can't copyright a real person's name, a date, or a real location), the argument could also be made that the photographer does not need to obtain permission from the copyright holder, similar to how you don't need permission from Disney to distribute a picture of a kid wearing a Winnie the Pooh t-shirt. So I'm going to say Keep. --jonny-mt 15:15, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- I actually received a letter from Passport Canada today advising that this image is a copyright violation. Considering I like my passport and don't want to have it revoked, the sooner this gets deleted the better. 216.121.209.227 09:33, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
