odd how do you place that? did you click over to the CLEARLY LINKED FLIKR PAGE? if you did you would notice the picture and its status as SHARE ALIKE.......or are you not seeing that? Hollywoodnorthreport 17:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Delete Unfortunately some of us have learned to be skeptical of Flickr licenses. The validity of the license relies on the Flickr user "syntheticentertainment" (which does happen to be the name of the band'd management company) having the right to upload this promo image. As they haven't uploaded anything else can't really tell. --Simonxag 18:42, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete and drop the attitude, Hollywoodnorthreport. Suspecting Flickr-washing here. Lewis Collard! (hai thar, wut u doin) 22:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
-so I am confused here...whats so wrong with someone posting a picture to flikr? and if so should this not be flikr's responsibilty to weed out so called illegal images? again this all seems very odd to me.....what is the bands management company owns the picture and decided to release it for use around the world? is that really so RARE and WRONG?Hollywoodnorthreport 06:41, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Yes, it is Flickr's responsibility to weed out infringing images. But we also have a duty to our users as well, to not host anything that could be a copyright infringement. This looks like it. And yes, it is very rare that a band's management company releases material under licenses that are acceptable to us. Lewis Collard! -so what if the original photographer was also the band manager? I have emailed them and this is the case. So what now? Here we have a legally posted photo that is available for SHARE ALIKE and you are telling me thats not good enough? What hoops do I need to jump through next to satisfy you?Hollywoodnorthreport 23:55, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Forward the email in question (which confirms that the Flickr account in question does indeed belong to Synthetic Entertainment) to OTRS, at permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. We have these "hoops" for a good reason. Lewis Collard! (hai thar, wut u doin) 01:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
