really pd? As the description doesn't state who the author may be there is no evidence the photographer has been dead for 70 years. 77.21.66.72 19:54, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep "Photo: Ufa-Baumann"; it seems to me that Foto Baumann was a large company with several photographers, so {{PD-EU-no author disclosure}}. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:52, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kept - with change of license tag (non-admin closure). /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 17:02, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pic not pd-anonymous, the author is given *on* the pic - it says Ufa-Baumann, the photographer was Otto Baumann, son of photographer Karl Baumann. He started his career at the UFA in 1938 and was active till at least 1945. The decision on keeping the pic (plus explanation) in 2009 can only be a joke (a very bad one tough). More information on Otto Baumann in German here. Delete. Paulae (talk) 21:26, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete The whole quote says: Als Leiter der Starfoto-Abteilung der UFA arbeitete er mit allen großen Stars, setzte aber auch die Nachwuchstalente ins rechte Licht. You can't interpret sentences the way you like. There are a lot of different photographers during that time, that were working for the UFA *and* are named on Ross cards etc. Baumann is one of them. The term Foto: UFA-Baumann does *not* suggest that he was some kind of boss with all other photographers at the UFA around him, and with him not taking pics at all. That would suggest that all pics that were made by the UFA at that time, were tagged like that. This is not the case. After all, he was a photographer. There is no reason to think that he did not take the pictures nor have the rights on the pics (except for wanting to keep them here no matter what of course). PD-anonymous is just wrong, and there is no reason and way to doubt that because the photographer is named on the pic. How more obvious could it be? The file should be deleted. --Paulae (talk) 22:23, 17 November 2011 (UTC) And btw: The linked text says, that Otto Baumann *himself* was popular under the term „Ufa-Baumann“, not a kind of studio or company as suggested in the first DR. It also says that his profession was in die Wiege gelegt, like meant for him, because his father was working as Königlicher Hoffotograf. It is also logic that he did not come to the film business and the UFA in 1938 and immediately became head of the photographic department. You made one mistake by keeping the file in 2009 based on a mere suggestion, your suggestion proved now to be wrong and imho there is no reason to make this mistake a second time. --Paulae (talk) 22:35, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted. The author of that photo is known and hasn't died more than 70 years ago. --32X (talk) 20:27, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
