Let's take zh:Template:武汉地铁1号线 as an example: I think it could look better if we replace this file with File:Wuhan_Metro_Logo.svg which is transparent. You can use [[File:Wuhan_Metro_Logo.svg|sizepx]] to scale down the image. Liangent (talk) 03:26, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The gray background is specially designed to give you an idea that it is a logo. The resizing of the .svg file cannot convey the same idea. Especially when you use this logo with each individual Wuhan Metro's line logo, it aligns perfectly, compared to simply using the .svg file, e.g. (8)(3). Please respect the designer's idea, thanks.
