This deletion discussion is now closed. Please do not make any edits to this archive. You can read the deletion policy or ask a question at the Village pump. If the circumstances surrounding this file have changed in a notable manner, you may re-nominate this file or ask for it to be undeleted.
This file was initially tagged by FMSky as duplicate (dup) and the most recent rationale was: Wendy yoshimura in 1976.jpg
Converted to regular DR to allow for discussion, as the nominated file carries an OTRS-permission-tag, while the other image-version, which has the same situation (uploaded not by photographer) does not. Its deletion may result in future problems. -- Túrelio (talk) 08:43, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Can you explain in basic English what the "same situation (uploaded not by photographer) does not" mean? Please show me the "other image-version."
- Thank you, Nancy Wong (Edmunddantes) Edmunddantes (talk) 18:24, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- The "other image-version" is the target-file, i.e. the file to which the duplicate-nominated file (File:WENDYYOSHIMURA1976SFphotoNancyWong.jpg) will be redirected after its deletion, File:Wendy yoshimura in 1976.jpg. However, after you have disclosed the connection between uploader and photographer, this discussion is idle and the requested duplicate-deletion can be performed, if no one objects. --Túrelio (talk) 20:05, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Torelio, Please go ahead and delete the duplicate that FMSky created from my original file of the 1976 photo of Wendy Yoshimura that that I took in Piedmont, California. Someone else also cropped another one of my photos (of Rev. Jim Jones) that I don't approve. A full frame negative usually gives more information and should be respected.

- there's no reason to delete these two files at all, and when you uploaded them you allowed people to edit/crop them. but yes i agree that the one with the OTRS-permission-tag should be kept and the other duplicate deleted --FMSky (talk) 01:58, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
Kept: no valid reason for deletion. I decided to history merge both images, because Wendy yoshimura in 1976 contained exif data mentioning the photographer. So that file is now a redirect. --Ellywa (talk) 22:18, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
