No listing of this image at the NPG for anyone under the name "Tredegar". Additionally, if the photographer is unknown, we cannot claim they have been dead for 70 years SchroCat (talk) 07:46, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • The 1st Viscount Tredgar, who is seen on the right in the this photo, died in 1934 and this photo was taken during the First World War, which the 2nd Viscount served in, as seen by his military uniform, so whoever took this photo is most certainly deceased. • You need to prove information, not just say it. There is no evidence of when the photo was taken (yes, they're in uniform, but that's no proof of when it was taken). A photographer being dead doesn't mean that the photo is PD: in the UK, it's 70 years after death, which is very possible. Saying the image came from the NPG is meaningless without a link to the image. - SchroCat (talk) 23:03, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
      • The 2nd Viscount, who was born in 1893, according to his wikipedia page 'fought in the First World War, gaining the rank of lieutenant in the service of the Welsh Guards'. The picture clearly shows him as a young man, wearing the uniform of a lieutenant during the First World War. There is your proof of when it was taken. • That's not proof: that's only a guess. It could just as well have been taken in 1921 when the two men realised they didn't have a photograph of themselves in uniform and dressed up for one (unlikely but very possible). And it still does not address the problem of the identity of the photographer and the fact the copyright remains in the hands of his estate for 70 years after his death. You need to learn more about the rather tricky world of copyright before you continue to upload images. - SchroCat (talk) 08:53, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination. Without authorship information, we cannot assume the author was unknown, just because we don’t know. You have to show that you’ve exhausted reasonable enquiries. Green Giant (talk) 15:05, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
