  • I meant to hit "cancel" and take up the discussion elsewhere, but since the file has already been nominated for deletion I'll just start the discussion here: The photo/postcard is obviously copyrighted, but it seems the copyright-holder uploaded it himself and licensed it with creative commons? Not sure what to do. Braincricket (talk) 02:17, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete Obviously not the editor's "own work", this is presumed to be copyrighted and should be deleted. The editor's other uploads shouild be checked as well. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:33, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Excuse me, but absolutely all my uploads are of my own work, taken during my trips. Ingfbruno (talk)
Hey, sorry, I didn't mean to be a jerk. I don't understand how it can both be copyrighted and licensed under CC BY-SA. If you are Flavio Bruno and want to publish it with the CC license, maybe we should crop the image to remove the white border and caption? Braincricket (talk) 17:43, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Ingfbruno - Is the image a photograph of a postcard? If so, did you take the picture on the postcard, or are you the holder of the copyright on the postcard? If not, then it is not yours to upload, as any photograph of a copyrighted object or text is a subsidiary work which is covered by the same copyright, and requires the permission of the copyright owner to be republished (i.e. to be uploaded here). Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:02, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, if the image inside the frame is yours, than the frame is unnecessary and should be cropped out. Beyond My Ken (talk) 01:58, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, OK, now I understand. The problem is the frame I put around the picture... Ingfbruno
Yes, that's probably it, if the image is indeed yours, the frame makes it look like a postcard, which raised the whole copyright issue. We generally don't accept watermarked images, and the frame is a watermark in extremis. Please re-upload the image without the frame, and specifically without the copyright notice.  Kept, the argument "not own work" has been sufficiently disproven. Taivo (talk) 10:16, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
