No freedom of panorama exception exists in France per COM:FOP#France - this image is the central part of the image and not a trivial part of a cityscape Ww2censor (talk) 16:14, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ask yourself, what is the focus of the image? While it is a reasonable shot of the Rue de Rennes in which the Tour Montparnasse is the major part and focus of the photo so de minimus cannot apply. Perhaps if it was a streetscape with lots more buildings on either side (possibly a horizontal not a vertical photo) and the Tour was about 30%-50% of the height of the photo, you might then make a case to argue de minimus, but not like this. If needed we can crop the picture in order to keep it. Jeriby (talk) 17:32, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think you are confused, that's the opposite idea. What you need to do expand the view to make the Tour smaller in relationship to the surrounding streetscape thereby making it de minimus. Cropping will only make it more important. Ww2censor (talk) 18:31, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The idea was to crop in order to center the picture to the street (cutting the head of the tower), but if the author has an expanded view it's also a good idea. Jeriby (talk) 21:01, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
