Appears to be a copy from a book, caption, page number, little black line at bottom. Ellin Beltz (talk) 16:06, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Info @Ellin Beltz: This picture is extracted from Sumerian figurine.pdf. Also many viewes like Wikimedia do not show the picture, but open https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/81/Sumerian_figurine.pdf in Firefox or Inkscape and you see the image. Therfore please start the deletion-request at the source. — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 20:56, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- I disagree, this is a photo, the one you say it's extracted from is a drawing. There is a link to this page from that one, but it's recursive, and no source. Ellin Beltz (talk) 22:35, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Ellin Beltz: It is a rasterimage (I would not call it photo), but it is from https://www.dropbox.com/s/vos0gpt8zx8lfi8/Screenshot%202019-06-06%2000.39.48.png, so this Rasterimage is embedded in the Sumerian figurine.pdf. Therfore either the Rasterimage must be removed from Sumerian figurine.pdf with versiondeletion or I don't see the problem with this png. — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 22:44, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
File:Sumerian figurine.pdf is a traced version of the photograph from the book page you extracted. That explains why the book page was in there in the first place. Technically the traced image is a derivate work. But being a traced image and the object being too old for copyright protection, the only thing left from the photo is the angle. Nothing more. A 3D-model of the object would be fine. Just a camera angle can't be protected by copyright.
- I assume that the text is protected by copyright, threfore we might should crop this image (and remove the image from the pdf, or delete the pdf)? — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 18:34, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
- @JoKalliauer: the photo also needs to be removed. The traced version removes things like lighting choices, but the original photo is copyrightable. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 19:30, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
