Highly stylised logo that is certainly subject to copyright and not composed solely of simple geometric shapes. Copyright Marks & Spencer. Philafrenzy (talk) 17:34, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Obvious keep Fonts and typefaces come in every shape and style you can imagine. Logos based essentially on type, including variations and ornamentation, are not copyrightable. There's barely anything to say about this particular type, other than it's "not Arial". Regards, -- Orionisttalk 19:38, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I doubt that Marks & Spencer would agree. It is a registered trademark here: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/domestic?domesticnum=1320156 Philafrenzy (talk) 19:14, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Trademark ≠ copyright. Most logos uploaded here are trademarks, and we have a {{Trademarked}} tag for them. But that's a completely separate issue from copyright. Trademark registration only restricts the use of the same trademark to promote goods and services similar to those registered. To delete this file, we need a proof that the copyright was registered. There is no facility to register copyright in the UK, it just is or is not copyright. I am not trying to get it deleted, it just seemed an obvious breach of copyright to me. I think something can be copyright even if it is text if it includes a distinctive combination of words, typeface and colours, but perhaps I am wrong. Kept: {{PD-textlogo}} and {{Trademarked}}. Leyo 23:36, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
