Logo of a company, claimed as own-work by uploader, which seems fishy. Presumed COM:DW of the company, but I don't know TOO and PD timeframe for Scotland. DMacks (talk) 19:15, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Seems fishy"? I drew it myself in Photoshop, and obviously it looks like the original... This is the logo of a small company, that went defunct in the 1980s. If you don't want any contributions, why don't you just say so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oz1sej (talk • contribs) 07:50, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's not strictly "your own work" if it is a reproduction of someone else's work. You cannot claim sole rights over something that is actually a copy of something that someone else owns the rights to. You cannot say "here, it's ok to sell this thing I made for your own profit" when that original owner has not even said you have permission to copy it at all. It's a frustating problem when that other "someone" no longer exists as such, but that does not mean their rights evaporated. DMacks (talk) 08:41, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
