Commons:Deletion requests/File:SAMANTHA FOX Strip Poker.jpg
Probably unfree derivative work Dronebogus (talk) 13:12, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- Derivative of the image, you mean? Or are you saying the rest of the composition surpasses textlogo COM:TOO? Arlo James Barnes 21:01, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yes because there’s a photograph that’s obviously copyrightable and almost certainly copyrighted. Dronebogus (talk) 22:20, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- Maybe one for obscuring with a free equivalent from Samantha Fox and then REVDELd, in that case. Arlo James Barnes 22:41, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- I feel like that’s a solution in search of a problem. Nowhere on WM is really desperate for this image of an obscure Samantha Fox strip poker FMV thingy, so trying to clumsily edit it into something acceptable is rather pointless. Dronebogus (talk) 10:41, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
[dedenting] On the contrary, the reason I uploaded a spate of strip poker related images that I found using the license search at Flickr (usually the first place I go for uploads since the import tooling is easy to use) was that after successfully nominating Commons:Deletion requests/File:BW Strip Poker 2.png for deletion due to it lacking any metadata, I found that the strip poker category here was empty (aside from the SPNATI subcat) and the enwp article was without illustration. This seemed suboptimal given that I know the game has been a media fixture for some decades (as shown with the retro games, and before them a subgenre of game shows, etc.), so I attempted to correct it. The only reason the English Wikipedia article is still unillustrated is that I plan to first move it to 'strip game' since it covers non-poker variants anyway. Update: in progress. In any case, Commons is not merely a repository to supply Wikimedia projects (otherwise there would be little advantage over hosting files locally at each wiki).
