User:Buckshot06 I don't understand a word your talking about. I have researched this as best I could and compared similar articles with images from the same source and its from a publicly available source.

If this is because of a licensing issue (if I mistakenly labeled it when it should have been CC-4 or something else) then it shouldn't be considered for deletion and instead someone should be helping me fix it. LordHood2552 (talk) 23:18, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for your note here. There *IS NO EVIDENCE* that this file is Universal CC-0. It's likely an infringement of Canadian Government copyright or law, as the original Canadian Government page source specifically noted: "The heraldic emblems found in the Register may not be reproduced in any form or in any media without the written consent of the Canadian Heraldic Authority and/or the recipient." If you do not understand the licensing requirements involved in uploading images to this site, do yourself a favour and take the file down immediately. We have lots of experts here who can help you find some sort of appropriate replacement. Otherwise arguing about it, like your borderline ridiculous assertions on your WP talk page when I attempted to raise this with you first, make you look like you're trying to evade the copyright laws that keep Commons and Wikipedia legal active websites. In addition, both Facebook (source for Maj Gen Omer Lavoie, File:MajorGeneralOmer LavoieCA2019.jpg) and BarrieToday.com (source for James Riley Stone) are *commercial*, that is, .com, websites that can easily assert copyright. On what basis did you believe that you could upload images to these sites while claiming that all rights were released? To use the words of the declaration tag, on what basis do you believe that you could disclaim all rights.. for a photo owned by Facebook (or the original uploader)? For reasons I can't seem to understand, you have made targeting me personal and I won't stand for it.

The last 2 things you mentioned are already covered by fair use and you have no right in asserting they are not. The media organizations listed themselves got the photographs from elsewhere.

You have made these attacks on me personal and i've had it up to here with you.

and on a related note, I guess you are then going to have to target any wiki page dealing with the Canadian Military that has an image up because they all have the same types of images up.

The problem with the two other photos is that you have asserted CC-0 - disclaimer of all copyright whatsoever. If you want to assert Fair Use, for one specific page, linked to the subject - the Lavoie photo on the Lavoie page, for example, not elsewhere - you need to select the *correct* tag for that. But that's Free Use, not CC-0, so they have to be uploaded on Wikipedia, not Commons, which is for pictures without any restrictions whatsoever. Otherwise, you are breeching Wikimedia Commons' copyright status. Look up the correct tags, please, or ask for help. Buckshot06 (talk) 22:35, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
