Sources (sorry, don't really use commons too much so am still getting used to this)

  • I changed the tag because one of the sources of the image, Pexels, has a license that seems to allow the image to be allowed for any purpose, but... looking a bit more closely at their license, it seems it may be incompatible with Wikimedia Commons because it does not allow plain redistribution of images closed to the site without modifying it... so a derivative work may be okay, I am not sure anymore. The license seems to be very weird... only allowing derivative works of images posted there to be uploaded here, not allowing the images to be uploaded to other stock image platforms, not allowing endorsement, and not allowing images to be used in a manner that is offensive... I think this may require a judgment call. As for the other image sources, it seems as the images may be too simple to be copyrighted. One is even a Wikipedia diff... Ed6767 I think this can be saved if you maybe replace the clock with one that is freely licensed. You can choose "Free to modify, share, and use commercially" in Bing search or "Labeled for reuse with modification" on Google to have some Commons-compatible images pulled up. You can also use Creative Commons search and choose "Use commercially" and "Modify or adapt" for Creative Commons images you can use. Aasim 01:05, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Awesome Aasim: There is a more detailed explanation of the license at https://www.pexels.com/terms-of-service/ in section 5.5:
Pexels grants you an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to download, copy, modify, distribute, perform, and otherwise use the Content (this does not include Sponsored Content), including for commercial purposes, without attributing the photographer/ content owner or Pexels ("Pexels License"). The Content made available for download on the Service under the Pexels-License ("Pexels Content") is marked with the reference "Pexels License" next to the respective picture / content. The Pexels License does not include:

- the right to compile any Pexels Content to replicate a similar or competing Service;
- the right to sell copies of the Pexels Content without first updating, modifying, or otherwise incorporating new creative elements into the Content (i.e., selling unaltered copies of photos, videos or other content), including selling the Content as prints or printed on physical goods.

Thanks for the clarification Ed6767. I am still not sure if this is compatible with Commons licensing policy, but I do hope that this file stays. Aasim 01:14, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I guess this can be closed now? The issues seem to be resolved... Aasim 23:38, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
