FOP Not OK for sculpture and other works in Argentina -- Christian Ferrer 19:22, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand! Can't I use a photo made by me of a public place (a square - not a museum)? Why? Pedrassani (talk) 12:56, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • You can not upload on Wikimedia Commons an image of copyrighted content, the law in Argentina say that a sculptor, even if his work is in a public place, is the rights holder on all photos you can take of its work, until of course he explicitly allows these images. By keeping copyrighted images Wikimedia Commons takes the risk of being sued. You can of course take pictures and use them how you please as long as you do not shoot copyrighted works in countries where the laws don't allow it. In Commons:Freedom of panorama, you can find more precision on what you are not allowed to be publish by country. -- Christian Ferrer 20:10, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
