the photograph itself may be free, but the design of the banknote certainly isn't Liliana-60 (talk) 03:02, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Keep - it is not a photo of a banknote but a photo of a tied stack of banknotes. if we delete this then we can delete any photo that somehow somewhere includes a banknote.--Avala (talk) 19:16, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- Comment: enough of the banknote is visible that if the banknote itself is copyrighted -- and I have no idea whether it is -- then the photo would infringe copyright. - Jmabel ! talk 04:48, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- "if we delete this then we can delete any photo that somehow somewhere includes a banknote" - untrue, see de minimis Bulwersator (talk) 08:09, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Where is the photo taken? Is the country where it's taken recognises the copyright from North Korea? Does North Korea claim copyright on the bank notes at all? Beta M (talk) 06:09, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- The banknotes themselves are presumably North Korean works; I don't think copying them somewhere else would be relevant to the issue of any possible copyright infringement. - Jmabel ! talk 15:02, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

- Keep as well as many similar images of others banknotes, see File:Australian banknotes - ten thousand dollars.jpg--Threecharlie (talk) 04:58, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Linked image may be kept based on Commons:MONEY#Australia "Consent is not required for a representation that is not capable of misleading" Bulwersator (talk) 08:11, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Other countries are irrelevant, the issue is North Korean copyright law. - Jmabel ! talk 15:00, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Commons:Money is without entry, North Korea signed copyright treaty with USA, fails de minimis, so this file should be deleted. Bulwersator (talk) 08:08, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Delete Couldn't find any info on the relevant North Korean law. For obvious reasons, NK has very little Internet presence. The photo is a very clear derivative work, with the bill design prominently occupying most of the frame, and an ordinary copy of the bill has a fair use rationale on enwp (en:File:1000 North Korean Won.jpg). Unless new information materializes soon, I'm calling for a delete under COM:PRP. Dcoetzee (talk) 02:45, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
