According to the source is was created by an photographer named Ronald Startup and was published in Picture Post, United Kingdom. The license claim "PD-Egypt" is wrong, egypt is not the country of origin. Martin H. (talk) 00:34, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Clearly would have been photographed in Egypt. Can someone clarify the status of a picture snapped in Egypt and published in the UK? - Jmabel ! talk 17:16, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- If the photo were first published in the UK (only), then UK laws would apply regardless of where it was created. Sadly, that seems to be the case here. Quadell (talk) 00:17, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- International copyright law is always based on the country of publication, with a few sidenotes as to the nationality of the creator. Where it was created has little to do with it.--Prosfilaes (talk) 02:05, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
