Copyrighted marker/sign and no freedom of panorama for this in the U.S. Ramaksoud2000 (talk) 03:49, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- What nonsense!! This is located at public property and I took the photo from public place. The presence of a small logo in the plaque is totally irrelevant here. --Ragib (talk) 03:54, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- The text is copyrighted too. In the U.S., it doesn't matter that it was taken in a public place as described at COM:FOP. Ramaksoud2000 (talk) 05:04, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- Comment What is the threshold for simple text listing facts to become copyrightable prose? -- Infrogmation (talk) 02:55, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- This is most definitely copyrighted. For the copyright.gov document, you can see this if you would like. If you don't want to read that, the threshold is if there was any creativity. This is of course subjective, as the U.S. is a common law country. Ramaksoud2000 (talk) 03:04, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Deleted: Simple facts -- just names and dates -- do not have a copyright. However, the discussion in Copyright Basics suggests that even a single sentence does -- only "short phrases" are excluded. -- see http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ01.pdf, page 3 . Jim . . . .
