Footballer cut out of a group shot image. Comment on the image is "released by webmaster... etc", and then licensed with a GFDL-self license. In short: no permission. -- Deadstar (msg) 21:22, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded these images back in the days when my knowledge of the different licenses wasn't all that impressive. I asked the owner of the mentioned site via e-mail if I could use the pictures she had taken and posted on jan-wuytens.tk - her answer was something close to "feel free to do whatever you want with them", so perhaps a public domain license would be a better choice. Unfortunately, I do not have these mails anymore to prove this, and the site isn't maintained anymore; all I can ask is to assume good faith. Luctor 08:58, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My worry is that the webmaster did not actually take the original shot (assuming that it's a group shot) as they are mostly professionally done. Do you have the original uploaded as well? Maybe we can see from there if it's likely the webmaster took it herself. Even then though - OTRS permission would probably be needed. -- Deadstar (msg) 22:06, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted. Permission should go to OTRS Huib talk 16:50, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shame. I don't possess the original shot anymore - but the quality was far below what you would expect from a professional shot, and there was absolutely no reason to doubt the integrity of the webmaster/photographer. Just a fan who likes to take pictures of her favourite club. Luctor 13:11, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
