- File:Portrait of Maghfoor Ahmad Ajazi in Red Fort's Freedom fighters museum.jpg
A work from the 1950s may be PD in India, but it became PD after 1996 and therefore is still under copyright in the USA. . Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 12:57, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- The earlier image was cropped to remove redundant details. Bufferhistory (talk) 13:20, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- Also, the image is of my father and got it from him. So, have all the necessary copyright with me. Bufferhistory (talk) 14:21, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- Ok then please add relevant details like source and author. LearningNinja (talk) 20:35, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
- Have added proper licensing which depicts why image is in public domain in India as well as in the USA. Now, request admins to review and if find satisfactory then close this nomination. 103.38.131.252 19:20, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

- I've added File:Portrait of Maghfoor Ahmad Ajazi in Red Fort's Freedom fighters museum.jpg which is another version of the same image. If this is found to be under copyright, File:DR MAGHFOOR AHMAD AJAZI SKETCH, Mar 2013.jpg and File:Sketch of Maghfoor Ahmad Ajazi.jpg will also have to be deleted as COM:DERIV creative works based on a single specific photograph. --Lord Belbury (talk) 15:37, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Delete Per COM:HIRTLE, works solely published abroad, without compliance with US formalities or republication in the US, and not in the public domain in its home country as of URAA date maintain copyright until 95 years after publication date. The date of the photograph is given as being the 1950s, and even if the photo was published in 1950 it would have been copyrighted on the URAA date (Indian photographs published before 1958 had copyrights that were valid until 50 years post-publication, while those published after 1957 have copyrights that are valid until 60 years post-publication). The photo subject does not appear to hold copyright as there is no evidence of any legal operation or contract that transferred copyright to that person. As such, the photograph is copyrighted in the United States by its author (i.e. photographer), even though that photographer has been lost to time. Mhawk10 (talk) 21:45, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
Deleted: per nomination, discussion. Assuming a 1959 publication of the photo (the last year in the 1950s that were stated), the files can be restored in 2054. --Rosenzweig τ 12:38, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
