Not sure if this qualifies as text logo Darwin Ahoy! 09:32, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- Does it need to be a text logo specifically? It is the logo for the company Logik, so I'm not entirely sure where the problem is. User: Amcelder
- The problem is that this logo is almost certainly under a copyright. However, we allow here simple logos as defined in {{Textlogo}}, so I opened this DR to see if this one qualifies.-- Darwin Ahoy! 14:43, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, it is under copyright, however I found it in the press section of the website, therefore doesn't that make it acceptable for public use? Amcelder
- Only if it is clearly stated there that it is available under a free license. In case of doubt, you can write them and ask for a clarification.-- Darwin Ahoy! 15:04, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

- Logik allows the use of their logo for a variety of purposes. The logo is available at logik.com and even writes: "the Logik logo comes in a few different configurations. Here’s the breakdown, along with some suggestions about how to use each version." Thus, the implication is the logo can be used under a free license. Furthermore, after contact with Logik, they give permission for the use of their logo on the WIKI page.
- The permission must be for release under a free license, not a wiki page, and it must be sent to OTRS.-- Darwin Ahoy! 06:09, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

- I just marked the file as missing permission, the instructions for authorizing it are in the talk page of Amcelder. Please acknowledge you have seen them, so that I can close this DR.-- Darwin Ahoy! 08:01, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- I've noticed that other companies have their logos up like Coca Cola, so why can't Logik have their logo up? The Coca-Cola logo is trademarked and copyrighted, but yet its up. In fact, it says on Wiki Commons, that logos can be used. Can we just keep it up as a logo and then include a "Non-free media use rationale - non-free logo" box to avoid bothering the company through emails.
- No, we don't allow non-free logos here. See Commons:Licensing. Powers (talk) 15:23, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- You can upload the logo at a local project if that project allows fair use or similar dispositions.-- Darwin Ahoy! 15:27, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
