The image at the source is sourced to the National portrait gallerie, National Portrait Gallery: NPG x85183 . Not clear that the photographer died 70 years ago, the Bassano photographers names are maybe known and copyright maybe still exists. Martin H. (talk) 01:51, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- Delete It's in copyright in the US; given that the National Portrait Gallery has been known to be litigious towards us, I think we need to take the Precautionary Principle to heart and delete it.--Prosfilaes (talk) 22:55, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- I tried researching Bassano before I uploaded this - Alexander Bassano died in 1913, before this photograph was taken, and I think this attribution means that the photograph was taken by someone unknown who worked for the Bassano Studios. Does that mean we can use the "PD-UK-unknown" template? The Celestial City (talk) 21:34, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Reasonable enquiry would be to ask the copyright claimant. --Martin H. (talk) 11:53, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Given the National Portrait Gallery's animosity towards this site, that's probably a lost cause. I guess delete then. The Celestial City (talk) 00:10, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
