The video screens behind the performer are copyright images that cannot be licensed by the photographer. I would crop this photo but I don't think there would be a viable image left. FredWalsh (talk) 19:38, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
- Note to closing admin / ~riley: if the result of this DR is keep, could you please restore the original versions of File:Lily Allen gig Nottingham 2009 MMB 38.jpg, File:Lily Allen gig Nottingham 2009 MMB 37.jpg and File:Lily Allen gig Nottingham 2009 MMB 06.jpg? -mattbuck (Talk) 07:28, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ping, I'll follow the discussion from hereon. I used my judgement and decided delete on those previous per COM:PRP, however I think you have a very valid point and am curious to see what precedent there is or what the community currently thinks. :) ~riley (talk) 07:33, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Keep The screens are displaying live images - I believe that there's a precedent somewhere that such images are not eligible for copyright in the moment. I'll ask VPC to weigh in on this. -mattbuck (Talk) 07:21, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- I understand your argument Mattbuck but this is not a case of raw video images. The video is being created as the performance progresses. There is undoubtedly someone operating the controls for the screens and making creative decisions as can be seen by the variety of background videos in the other images in the same category. See for example File:Lily Allen gig Nottingham 2009 MMB 15.jpg which shows three different images on the screens at the same concert. By the time that the crowd see those video images, the video has been edited and when they do see it, the video is being published/presented, so the copyright is attached automatically. If for example, Matt had taken a picture of the screens in the control room, before editing, that would be a different situation. If this image is deleted, I think the other similar ones in the same category should also be deleted. FredWalsh (talk) 12:54, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- Please ping me in the VPC discussion so I don't miss it, cheers. ~riley (talk) 07:34, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
Deleted: per nomination - there is no difference between this and a life television broadcast. --Jcb (talk) 12:23, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
