This image has not been released into the public domain, and the use of "No known copyright restrictions" on the Flickr image page is misleading. A simple reading of it may suggest the image has been released into the public domain, but there is no evidence this is actually the case. The phrase in question is actually a hyperlink to the Library's copyright explanation which says "The Library's images within The Commons have no known copyright restrictions; this means that the National Library of Ireland is not aware of any current copyright restrictions on the photographs, usually because the Library owns the copyright or the term of copyright has expired". So it is clear from that "No known copyright restrictions" doesn't mean "this image is public domain", and it cannot be assumed to be the case. There is no evidence the copyright on this image has expired or it is public domain, and the Library doesn't permit commercial use of its images. Volante (talk) 12:11, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Keep cropped from a 1990 photo by Ronan Lang; trust the Irish National Library. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 22:16, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have asked for comment about the contradictory statements by the NLI and was reminded that the specific restriction to non-commercial use trumps the generic "no known ..."[1]]. Therefore  Delete. --Túrelio (talk) 20:36, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just some commons user saying that. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 20:44, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
