date created? author? looks old enough, but is it? Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 21:56, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
- Paintings at Daesoon Jinrihioe temples do not have authors but are anonymous and fruit of a collective efforts of the community. See https://wrldrels.org/2017/07/01/daesoon-jinrihoe-and-the-visual-arts/. I took the picture in the Yeoju temple. Painting dates to the early years of the 20th century but is undated and, as mentioned earlier, anonymous. I do not believe there is a copyright problem, Aida — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aidayoung (talk • contribs) 23:47, 8. Nov. 2017 (UTC)
- Signing your posts is required on talk pages and it is a Commons policy to sign your posts on deletion requests, undeletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and a timestamp will then automatically be added when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.
- @Aidayoung: This is entirely incorrect. Whether it's a communal affair or a single artist, the painter(s) owns the intellectual rights. The religion connected to this image isn't even 70 years old (established 1969), therefore this image can't be free. In South Korea the copyright expires 70 years after the last surviving artist died. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 00:37, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
The image is not essential and can be removed but if you read the article the religion was established in 1969 "with its present name." It is the heir of organizations dating back to the beginning of the 20th century and a number of artifact were "inherited" by the previous groups of which Daesoon Jinrihoe is a splinter and a heir Aidayoung Aidayoung (talk) 01:22, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
At any rate, I have uploaded a different image and substituted it in the article, so that copyright problems can be avoided. Thanks, Aidayoung Aidayoung (talk) 01:22, 9 November 2017 (UTC)
