Not subject to Crown copyright. Not PD in Canada in 1996; not PD in US, per URAA -- N'est pas sujet au droit d'auteur de la Couronne. N'est pas dans le domaine public aux USA; n'était pas dans le domaine public au Canada en 1996 Webfil (talk) 14:17, 10 March 2022 (UTC) Blatant copyvio. Explicitly under copyright per source. This should have been a speedy deletion. --Webfil (talk) 23:31, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep It clearly states in the original file location the following words "Droit d'auteur non évalué", which is a slick way of saying there are no copyrights on this picture and they are too lazy to properly say that this is public domain. When we are under a case of "Copyright not evaluated", it is their job to come here and prove to us that, in the end, they are upholding the rights to the photo, which is not the case here. The way BANQ works is simple : it's either CC, or Public Domain, Under Copyright Law or Copyright not evaluated. This image is just floating around with no precise copyright law attached, and therefore it's completely ok if it ends up on wikipedia. From this moment on, it is their job to come on here and tell us they've changed their copyright regarding this particular image and that they'd like us to take it down - which, of course, we'll happily oblige. But under the circumstances, no, this image does fit the criterias of being uploaded on wikicommons - we cannot possibly be held accountable for hosting an image with no copyrights attached, therefore we are in our rights. --Danalieth (talk) 21:08, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is the file location, here, it's a reproduction of a photography, the rights do not apply the same way.--Danalieth (talk) 23:42, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Photographs by Gabriel Desmarais (1926-1991) are usually not free and they are not in the public domain based on the life dates of the photographer. That could normally settle the case easily. However, the puzzling fact about this photograph is that apparently the government published this cropped version [1]. -- Asclepias (talk) 17:01, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per Asclepias. The file can be restored in 2062 (taking into account Canada's new 70 years pma term announced for later this year). --Rosenzweig τ 14:28, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
