This is a picture of a Maldivian National artefact, which is in public display. And also the source website is a government owned site. Additionally a different source can be found. FaranjiPyrard (talk) 23:14, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- The fact that the artefact was in public display is irrelevant I think, it does not prevent the photographer from gaining rights over his picture (it wouldn't have been the same with a 2D artefact and a colour photograph). As for the government owned site, it is not incompatible with copyright (Malaysian governmental organisations hold copyright over their work). If you knew when it was taken, it could help a lot, because it is likely that the picture is PD-old anyway. --Eusebius (talk) 09:00, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
