Mynewsdesk.com is now under discussion and the short is that it is a site for marketers that defaults to cc-by-sa licensing, leading many marketers who do not have the rights to inadvertently relicense images that don't belong to them. This looks like one of those cases. The source credits a website (snspix.com) that (1) does not appear to have a copy of the image in question, and (2) gives no indication that the image would be licensed under Creative Commons even if it were there. czar 15:50, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Czar: Hi there and thanks for being patient. This situation has happened before with another photo from Hitachi that I uploaded. I think it fair to assume from the last conversation that Hitachi know what CC is and aren't just blindly placing them on; however I have also emailed them again to confirm:

"Hi, Sorry to trouble you guys again, but could you confirm which license this image: http://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/hitachirail-eu/images/launch-of-class-385-at-edinburgh-waverley-526958 is under again and whether the author owns the copyright, or you do, like last time? Is it under Creative Commons? Thanks again!"

"Hi ....

I confirm the image you referred to is licensed to Creative Commons.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Susan Lawson Media Relations and Public Affairs Manager"

The reply was a bit vague, unlike last time, so I've sent off another email asking for more clarification.

Now confirmed:

"Could I just have confirmation that the Creative Commons license you allude to is indeed CC-BY-3.0?

Thanks and sorry for troubling you again!"

"Hi again.

Yes.

Thank you.
