Incompatible license; the official website of this football club <inter.it>'s Terms and Conditions are governed by (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 IT) and thus, the content of the website, this logo can't be used for commercial purpose and the content can not be edited. Also to add, this logo is not made using only simple geometric shapes. Canopus Grandiflora 18:50, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Organisations like sports clubs almost never states that their logo is too simple to meet the threshold of originality. Therefore the eligibility of a media file for {{Pd-textlogo}} is established by consensus between editors. --XXN, 00:00, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
But the content is governed by CC BY NC-ND 3.0, and thus the media can not be used commercially or even modified.--acagastya  📷 00:04, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Someone can not grant a license on something that is not protected. Therefore, if this logo indeed falls below the threshold of originality (personally, I do not like to judge TOO cases), that license would be invalid. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 19:03, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Keep We don't have any general information about the threshold of originality in Italy, but this article suggests that "the threshold for an industrial design product to enjoy copyright protection is still quite high and even famous industrial design products have been denied such protection by Italian Courts." While a logo is probably not an industrial design, it is still a work of applied art and the same principles should apply. De728631 (talk) 19:36, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I do not understand how can we just "assume" in this case if things are not clear. Club would consider knowing the copyright laws of their country before licensing anything in under CC BY NC-ND license.--Canopus Grandiflora 13:23, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You'd be surprised to learn what types of works companies like to claim as copyrighted even if there is clear evidence that it is too trivial for copyright. So if the Cc by ND licence means anything it is just that Inter doesn't want others to change or distort their logo. Likewise there are many user, even professional companies, that do not associate CC with copyright – but to grant a CC licence you need to hold the copyright of the work in the first place. If there is no copyright to be had, you cannot grant a CC licence either. De728631 (talk) 14:17, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Seems simple for Me, and I would vote  Keep if I know the TOO in Italy. Also, the SVG itself can be perfectly licensed under a CC license (and if it is actually own work by th original author of this SVG, the license is perfectly valid), but it does not remove the copyright for the logo. --Amitie 10g (talk) 06:21, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • This file has non derivative license, and none of the participants in this discussion know about the threshold of originality in Italy. So, we should not place our opinions as we don't know the rules. Besides, Inter os a famous and successful club who would have thought about copyrights, and TOO before choosing a bin derivative creative commons license. Distribution of the modified versions of this file is not permitted, si if any Wikimedia project(s) wants to use it, they can it do a fair use with a rationale. But in the project, skid we keep a file with a controversial TOO and ND license?--Canopus Grandiflora 07:03, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Kept, nobody wants to close this request. OK, I am today bold and do it. Per http://limegreenip.hoganlovells.com/article/46/copyrights-copyright-protection-italy I decide, that threshold of originality is high in Italy and this logo qualifies for simple one. Too complex for PD-Text Logo. Cosidering the discussion for another Italian football club's logo, Commons:Deletion requests/File:AC Milan.svg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:Acm.png, I think the logo is above ToO in Italy and thus it is copyrighted. And since it is not in Public Domain, it can be copyrighted and the club uses CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 IT. Quoting "copyright protection is still quite high and even famous industrial design products have been denied such protection by Italian Courts." is not justified if logos in question were not provided for example. In Italy, it depends on creative character and artistic value and this file contains both. Canopus Grandiflora 16:53, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Do not reopen DRs without new arguments. The TOO arguments have been discussed before. --Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 09:45, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
