- Question The drawing quality does not appear consistent with Haeckel's work. I have not been able to find this in volumes 1-3 of Anthropogenie oder Entwicklungsgeschichte des Menschen, although it's possible I missed it. It is sourced from Generelle Morphologie der Organismen at https://www.flickr.com/photos/gunthert/4166915085/ so I am checking that now. Is there any evidence that this is actually Haeckel's work? - Comment I have now checked volumes 1 and 2 of Generelle Morphologie der Organismen... they appear to contain nothing like this. There are numerous "tree of life" diagrams, but nothing that appears linear like this. Storkk (talk) 16:04, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
Delete unless correct authorship can be confirmed. Storkk (talk) 16:07, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Keep "G Avery" signature can be clearly seen in the version published in Scientific American on 1876-03-11 p167 ... so this is {{PD-US-1923}}, but the description needs to be corrected. And I have no idea about the colored version. Storkk (talk) 16:34, 17 May 2016 (UTC)- Keep I'm the original uploader. I found the drawing in a collection of old scientific figures, and scanned it. The information is from an old accompanying lable. The drawing is a hand coloured version of an old copperplate and is undoubtedly old (middle Victorian), so there's no reason to delete it. I'll try to dig a bit to find where it's from. 129.240.32.22 10:49, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
