Licensing issues. Richard C. Duncan (originator of the Olduvai Theory) is listed as the author, but there is no evidence that he has licensed this image for use on Wikimedia Commons. The image appears to originate from the karlnorth.com blog in the filename, specifically http://karlnorth.com/?p=978, but if Karl North is the author there's no evidence that he has licensed the image for use on Wikimedia Commons either. The image does not appear in the pdf given by the tinyurl.com link within the image. The most likely explanation is that this image was grabbed from the linked blog post, and is a copyvio. - Other uploads by the same user are suspect as well:
- File:Http mikebert.neocities.org Amer-sec-cycles.gif was probably stolen from the URL in the filename.
- File:Robber-barons2.png is clearly not the user's "own work", unless this user is very old. It's a dupe of File:The Bosses of the Senate by Joseph Keppler.jpg.
