The file is a replica of a building from Lord of the Rings, in Berastagi, Indonesia. However, there is no FOP in Indonesia according to the information, and the building's design may exceed COM:TOO, so the file may be unfree. 廣九直通車 (talk) 11:38, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- I am a bit confuse here why my pic is being tagged for deletion. Can anyone explain? --Sylphar (talk) 12:23, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Sylphar: Thank you for your question. I know that the file is created by yourself from your information provided. However there is no FOP in Indonesia, which means the buildings and artworks are copyrighted by their own authors in Indonesia. As all files on Commons must be either licensed in a free license or in public domain in the original country and the US, the file is possibly unfree on Commons. If you find a need to use this file on Wikipedia, you may upload this file to a respective Wikipedia site, as Wikipedia sites only needs a free license or public domain for uploading.廣九直通車 (talk) 01:37, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
- @廣九直通車: Thanks for the explanation. So what are exempted from this? Very old and government owned buildings only are allowed?
- @Sylphar: If the building/artwork is in public domain in both the source country and the US, then it is good to be uploaded to Commons. You may want to read COM:CT#Public domain for more details. Also, if the source country grants FOP for your object, the file is also good to be uploaded to Commons廣九直通車 (talk) 01:38, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
